现任上海交大设计学院副院长，上海交大建筑文化遗产保护国际研究中心主任，上海交通大学四川研究院副院长。国家文物局全国重点文物保护工程方案审核专家库专家，中国文物保护技术协会常务理事兼副秘书长，近现代建筑保护专委会副主任兼秘书长，中国紫禁城学会理事，《古建园林技术》编委，中国勘察设计协会传统建筑分会学术委员，上海市勘察设计行业协会历史建筑保护（传统建筑）分会会长，上海市建筑学会村镇建设专委会副主任，上海建筑学会历史建筑保护委员会委员。
1990-1998年，西安建筑科技大学建筑学本科、硕士（建筑历史与理论方向），2002-2008年浙江大学建筑学博士毕业（建筑遗产保护方向），2014、2015年作为访问教授，分别在意大利的威尼斯建筑大学和佛罗伦萨大学访学。
主要从事建筑遗产保护的理论与实践研究，特别在建筑遗产的数据采集与管理、病害勘察、精准化修复设计等方面做了大量工作。先后主持了国家自然科学基金项目在内的课题97项，并带领团队完成300多项建筑遗产的保护修缮工作，包括保护规划、城市保护与更新设计、单体保护设计、复原研究、仿古建筑设计等。先后获得“2019年上海市科技进步二等奖”、“上海市改革开放40周’勘察设计之星’”、“上海交通大学校长奖”等荣誉，获得包括“2011年度全国十大文物维修工程在内的设计奖”10项。著有《浦东传统民居研究》、《上海古桥保护研究》等6部专著和编著，发表学术论文40多篇。

Description of Research Group:IRCAHC was established in 2013, led by Professor Cao Yongkang, a leading figure in the field of heritage conservation in China. IRCAHC is a production-university-research team engaged in the architectural heritage by combining multidisciplinary experts and institutions at home and abroad. It is mainly to carry out the decay detection of architectural heritage, building protection and restoration technology, data management and analysis and other scientific research work, meanwhile education and public communication activities, to promote the transformation of scientific research achievements.
