Short Bio: DONG Zhanxun is an associate professor, doctoral supervisor, and the head of the Design Department of the School of Design, Shanghai Jiao Tong University. He received his Ph.D degree in digital art and design from Zhejiang University in 2009. He won the second prize of National Teaching Achievement Award in 2022. His students won some design competitions' awards like iF talent award, "internet+",Mobile Application Innovation Contest, Lite-On Innovation Award.He is a key researcher of the Research Team of Innovation Design and Development Strategy Consulting Project of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and also a member of the Committee of the Industrial Design Branch of Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society. His research interests include: Applied Ergonomics, Interaction design for XR.

Bio:DONG Zhanxun is an associate Professor and Ph.D. Supervisor at the School of Design, Shanghai Jiao Tong University; Apple Distinguished Educator (ADE).

He received his Ph.D. in Digital Art and Design from the College of Computer Science and Technology, Zhejiang University, in 2009. His honors include the Second Prize of the National Teaching Achievement Award (2022); First Prize of the Shanghai Municipal Teaching Achievement Award (ranked third, 2018); Second Prize of the Shanghai Municipal Teaching Achievement Award (ranked second, 2022); Second Prize (First Rank) of the inaugural Teaching Excellence Award (team category, 2017) at Shanghai Jiao Tong University; Course Leader of the Shanghai Key Course Ergonomics; Second Prize of the “Candlelight Award” at Shanghai Jiao Tong University; First Prize in the Social Sciences Group of the 4th Young Faculty Teaching Competition at Shanghai Jiao Tong University; Teaching Excellence Award at Shanghai Jiao Tong University; and the SMC–Morning Star Outstanding Young Faculty Award. He is also a recipient of the National Program for Overseas Study for Young Backbone Teachers in Higher Education.His students won some design competitions' awards like iF talent award, "internet+",Mobile Application Innovation Contest, Lite-On Innovation Award.

He has served as a Visiting Scholar at the Department of Computer & Information Science & Engineering, University of Florida, and at the Future Interaction Technology Lab, Swansea University. He is a member of a major strategic research project on innovation-driven design development under the Chinese Academy of Engineering. He also serves as a committee member of the Industrial Design Branch of the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society and the Technical Committee on Intelligent Creativity and Digital Art of the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence.

He has participated as a core researcher in a major project funded by the National Social Science Foundation of China in the field of art studies. As Principal Investigator, he has led one Humanities and Social Sciences Research Project funded by the Ministry of Education and completed one Young Scholars Project under the same program. He has also completed a key research innovation project funded by the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, as well as open research projects supported by key laboratories in Shanghai and Zhejiang Province. In collaboration with industry partners such as Apple and Haier, he has led three industry–academia collaborative education projects funded by the Ministry of Education.

He has published extensively in leading journals and conferences, including International Journal of Industrial Ergonomics, International Journal of Human–Computer Interaction (IJHCI), ACM SIGCHI, IEEE VR, Zhuangshi, and Computer Integrated Manufacturing Systems, with multiple CSSCI/SCI/EI-indexed papers. His design work was selected for Apple AI Case (2025). He has also provided design consulting services for major enterprises including COMAC, SAIC Motor, Huawei, and Honor.
