Guo Weizhong is a full professor of Shanghai Jiao Tong University majored in Mechanical Engineering. He serves as a vice chairman of the Mechanical Transmission Branch of the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society(CMES), vice chairman of the IFToMM MO-Beijing Chinese Committee, member of the IFToMM Permanent Commission for Education(2019-), and the Local Coordinator of the European Union's "EMARO, EMARO+" double master degree programme. He also serves as a member of the Pedagogy Committee for Teaching of Mechanism and Machine Theory Courses of the Ministry of Education in China, vice chair of the National Association for Teaching of Mechanism and Machine Theory Courses, and Secretary General of the National Association for Teaching of Mechanical Element Design Courses.

His research focuses on modern mechanism and robotics, parallel robotics, innovation design methodology for complex equipment involving mechanical motions, as well as mini-scientific research oriented pedagogy. He has hosted more than 30 projects including youth/general/key projects from National Natural Science Foundation of China(NSFC). He published more than 150 peer-reviewed international journal and conference papers. Also he patented more than 50 inventions and 6 copyrights was authorized. He was awarded 5 provincial level first prize and Innovation Award of "China Good Design".
