With more than 10 years research experience in electrical machines and drives in both academy and industry, Dr Hua has participated in a number of R&D projects sponsored by companies or government, and published more than 50 academic papers including 20 papers as the first author in IEEE transactions. He was a recipient of the IEEE Industry Applications Society Prize Paper Award and several IEEE Conference Best Paper Awards.
