Shanying Zhu is currently a Full Professor with the Department of Automation, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China. He received the B.S. degree in information and computing science from North China University of Water Resources and Electric Power, China, in 2006; the M.S. degree in applied mathematics from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, China, in 2008; and the Ph.D. degree in control theory and control engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China, in 2013. From 2013 to 2015, he was a research fellow with the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, and also with Berkeley Education Alliance for Research in Singapore (BEARS).

His research interests focus on distributed optimization and control of cyber-physical systems, particularly in cooperative control of multi-agent systems and industrial control networks, distributed estimation and optimization in sensor networks and smart grids. He has authored and/or coauthored 1 monograph and more than 30 publications in peer-reviewed journals including IEEE TAC/TII/TSP/TIE/TWC/TCYB/IOT, Automatica, Applied Energy, and more than 30 papers in flagship conferences, e.g., IEEE CDC/ICASSP/GLOBECOM/ICC, IFAC World Congress, etc.

Dr. Zhu is a member of IEEE, and a member of IEEE IES Technical Committee on Industrial Informatics. He is the recipient of “National Award for Natural Sciences (Second Class)”, “Natural Science Award, The Ministry of Education of China (First Class)” and “Shanghai Technical Invention Award (First Class)” in 2018, 2016, and 2017, respectively. He was honored the “National Outstanding Young Scholar” by NSF of China in 2019. He has been actively involved in various professional services. He has served as a Web and Publicity Co-Chair of ICIT’22, Program Co-chair of NFC3’20, Invited Session Chair of ICARCV’20,  Track Co-chair of INDIN’20 and ISAS’19, Program Co-chair of NFC3’19, Local Arrangement Co-chair of WiOpt’18, and TPC/IPC member of many international conferences.
