Profile

Dr.Zhengshun Cheng is a Professor at the School of Ocean and Civil Engineering, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai, China. He earned his Ph.D. in Marine Structures from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in 2016. He is the recipient of the national-level Young Talent Award in 2018 and the Distinguished Young Scholar Award from China Frontiers of Engineering of the Chinese Academy of Engineering in 2024. His research mainly focuses on the multi-physics-coupled and stochastic dynamics of offshore structures, offshore wind technology, and offshore renewable energy. He is the principal investigator of over 20 high-level research projects, including one National Key R&D Program project and several NSFC grants. He has authored over 140 papers (more than 80 SCI-indexed) and received prestigious honors, including the Gledden Visiting Fellowship at the University of Western Australia (2024), the OMAE Best Paper Award (2023), and the Moan-Faltinsen Best Paper Award (2017). He serves as an editorial board member of Ocean Engineering journal, a member of the ITTC Ocean Engineering Technical Committee, and a Topic Organizer and Session Chair for the OMAE conference.
