Profile

Jiaping Gui is a tenure-track assistant professor (PhD supervisor) of computer science at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. He is the recipient of the Shanghai Leading Young Talents (Overseas) Fund and Huawei ``Explore-X'' Talent Fund. He graduated with a bachelor's and master's degree from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and a doctoral degree from the University of Southern California. He worked as a researcher at NEC Labs America from 2018 to 2021, and as a senior researcher at Stellar Cyber in the United States from 2021 to 2022. His research interests include network and system security, AI in security, and software engineering. He has led several research projects funded by the Natural Science Foundation of Shanghai and well-known enterprises. He has published nearly 30 academic papers in mainstream international conferences and journals, including USENIX Security, KDD, INFOCOM, WWW, ICDE, IJCAI, ICSE, and TDSC. He has applied for 16 US patents (5 authorized and 11 approved), and 4 Chinese patents. He is currently serving as a guest editor for the Special Issue on Emerging Research on Neural Networks and Anomaly Detection in Journal of Information (ISSN 2078-2489), and has been invited to serve as a member of the program committee or reviewer for conferences or journals such as WWW, KDD, MM, ISSTA, FSE, TSE, TOSEM, etc.
