Xue Xiangdong is a Tenure-Track Associate Professor, Principal Investigator, and PhD Supervisor at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. He earned his Ph.D. from the National Center for Nanoscience and Technology of China, under the supervision of Professor Xingjie Liang. From 2015 to 2020, he conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Washington (collaborating with Samuel Wickline) and the University of California, Davis (collaborating with Yuanpei Li). In December 2020, he joined the School of Pharmacy at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, where his research focuses on cross-barrier nanomedicines and their immunomodulatory effects on tumors and inflammation.
To date, he has published over 70 high-impact SCI papers, which have been cited more than 5,300 times, with an H-index of 36. These include more than 40 papers as corresponding or first author in prestigious international journals such as Nature Nanotechnology, Cell Biomaterials, Nature Communications, Advanced Materials, ACS Nano, Nano Letters, Biomaterials, and Journal of Controlled Release. His work has been featured by F-1000, Forbes, Science Daily, and the American Chemical Society, among other renowned media outlets. He has filed 2 PCT international patents (one has been licensed) and 9 Chinese patents (one has been licensed). He leads several research grants, including those from the National Natural Science Foundation of China (General and Young Scientist Programs) and the National Key R&D Program of China.
Dr. Xue serves as the Young Executive Editor of BME Horizon, an editorial board member for Journal of Biological Methods and Materials Today Bio (IF: 10.2), and a Young Editorial Board member for Nano-Micro Letters (IF: 36.3), Exploration (IF: 22.5), Biomaterials Translational, and iRadiology. He is a Young Committee Member of the Biochemical and Biotechnological Pharmaceuticals Committee of the Chinese Pharmaceutical Association, the Young Committee Member of the Nanotoxicology Committee of the China Anti-Cancer Association, and a Young Committee Member (Basic Pharmaceutics Group) of the Pharmaceutics Committee of the Shanghai Pharmaceutical Association. He is also a senior member of the Chinese Pharmaceutical Association and a member of the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR). He has delivered invited and oral presentations at numerous national and international conferences, including the China & International Biophysics Congress, the Chinese Pharmaceutical Conference, the Chinese Biomaterials Congress, the Northern California Biomaterials Symposium, and the AACR Annual Meeting. He serves as a peer reviewer for over 60 academic journals, including Nature Biomedical Engineering, Science Advances, Nature Communications, Advanced Materials, ACS Nano, Biomaterials, Advanced Functional Materials, Nano Letters, Advanced Science, Journal of Controlled Release, and Nano Research.
